Housekeeper Job Description

 

POSITION SUMMARY

Works under the close supervision of the Environmental Services Supervisor to sustain the engagement of Elliot Essentials in all actions while removing non-hazardous waste, completing cleaning of equipment, furniture, building permanent surfaces and disinfection procedures on touched surfaces, furniture, and equipment in occupied and unoccupied inpatient rooms with no precaution, Enteric, Contact, Droplet, Special, Airborne, Compromised Host precautions, operating suites, outpatient exam and invasive and non-invasive procedure rooms, offices, public areas, restrooms, and auxiliary support rooms.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • • Removes non-hazardous waste & recyclables from point of generation and transports to designated locations daily.
  • • Damp wipes touched surfaces, furniture, equipment and building permanent surfaces daily.
  • • Operates ultraviolet light equipment to disinfect touched surfaces, furniture, equipment, and building permanent surfaces daily.
  • • Fills hand soap, hand sanitizer, hand lotion, face mask, paper towel and toilet tissue dispensers daily.
  • • Damp dusts over shoulder high ledge surfaces, diffusers, and vents daily.
  • • Damp mops hard surface floors, edges, baseboards and corners daily.
  • • Vacuums carpet floors daily.
  • • Removes linens from point of generation and transports to designated locations daily.
  • • Operates computer to enter and receive information for time and attendance, bed tracking, disinfection equipment, communication, equipment inventory, and organizational education daily.
  • • Operates communication devices designated within department daily.
  • • Documents cleaning completed in department forms daily.
  • • Damp wipes department hand tools used daily.
  • • Moves and replaces furniture to access cleaning and improve presentation.
  • • Damp wipes vacuum cleaner and changes bag
  • • Transports clean IV pumps, Gaymar Pumps, IV Poles, Commodes, Seizure Pads, Walkers, Canes, Seqential Teds, AV Impulse, Feeding Pumps, PAPR Machine, from patient rooms to designated locations.
  • Makes beds, cribs, and stretchers.
  • • Cleans IV Pumps, Gaymar Pumps, IV Poles, Commodes, Seizure Pads, Walkers, Canes, Sequential Teds, AV Impulse, Feeding Pumps, PAPR Machine, Warmers, Omni Beds, Isolettes, Hospital Beds, Hospital Stretchers, Ergonomic Lift Equipment.
  • • Reports all damaged areas, defective equipment, and areas in poor appearance, or unsafe situations.
  • • Inspects all products used or maintained to prevent expiration condition.

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • • Requires the ability to engage and communicate with Elliot Essentials, I CARE, I SERVE, I INSPIRE, with all interactions.
  • • Requires the ability to perform repetitive or routine duties working from detailed instructions and under standard procedures.
  • • Requires the making of minor decisions.
  • • Demonstrates the ability to follow all organization safety policies.
  • • Demonstrates competency to use good judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • • Demonstrates competency to communicate in English to read, write, and speak.
  • • Demonstrates competency to use and understand the following computer programs: time and attendance, bed tracking, disinfection equipment, organization education programs, text communications, and Microsoft Outlook.
  • • Demonstrates competency in following department cleaning techniques and procedures as written.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSURE

  • • Education: High school diploma or a GED is strongly preferred.
  • • Experience: Healthcare and/or cleaning experience preferred.
